OtterBox touched down in Barcelona last Sunday to join the biggest and best of the Mobile industry at the annual Mobile World Congress 2013. The new venue, Fira Gran Via, brought an extra sense of excitement to the show this year with a shakeup of the major player’s prominence and stand locations. The likes of Samsung, Huaewai and ZTE moved into larger more central display areas in contrast with recent years. Here’s a look at who stood out from the crowd at the show and what’s next from OtterBox for Europe, the Middle East and Africa…

LG
The Korean firm announced an overhaul of their Android product line from high end to low budget. Optimus G Pro will lead the way with mid-range and lower end models. The line has been split into four categories: G series for early adopters, F series “for everyone”, L series at the lower end and finally the Vu tablets. The company also spoke of top end additions to be added to the Optimus G line soon.

Samsung
The Samsung rumours for a new tablet release which could fit in with the Note line rang true at the MWC when the company unveiled their Galaxy Note 8 last Sunday. As the name conveys, it features a high end 8 inch screen which puts it up there with the likes of the iPad Mini and the Nexus 7. The multi-window feature is a nice addition, which allows full use of several apps at the same time.

Sony
Sony’s exhibition has focused on the Xperia Tablet Z and the fact that it will be available in the U.S. this spring. Like other Xperia gadgets, the tablet will also be waterproof. The company also announced new Cyber-shot digital cameras.

OtterBox
There was an exciting buzz at the OtterBox booth this year with three of our ground breaking new products on show! The hotly anticipated
Armor Series took centre stage as the toughest case ever built. We even took it for a swim in the Fira Gran Via fountains to show its amazing ability to withstand submersion in water of up to 6.6ft for 30 minutes!

Clearly Protected was a Clear winner at MWC 2013! This is the industry’s strongest smoothest and easiest to apply protective film. Featuring 100% dry application and anti-air bubble technology this is premium screen protection at its absolute best.

Pushing things further was the Defender Series with iON Intelligence. This innovative development allows you to double the power of your device while enabling simultaneous charging and syncing, through a built-in micro USB connection. This power boosting technology is the ultimate experience in device protection and was a focal point of the OtterBox exhibition in Barcelona this week.
